What others think. Genuine word for word appraisals from our fantastic customers.

This was our third time at the barn and all our stays have been fabulous! We spent wonderful afternoons in the sunshine and with coffee and cake at the windmill in Heckington, purchasing local brew to take home with us. We enjoyed the comfort of the barn, its beautiful location, immersed in nature. What more could we wish for?

Paul and Julie, Burghfield Common, Berkshire

And so ends another lovely stay at the barn. We were so fortunate with the weather and had a nice relaxing time with the family. The location is great, making for a good base from which to visit the Lincolnshire coast and places nearer too, like Belton House and its beautiful grounds and exciting adventure playground. Thank you for the warm welcome and memories made.

Pierre, Theresa and children. Hertfordshire.

We have stayed in a few cottages/barns over the past few weeks (moving nightmare!!) and can honestly say that Hilltop Barn outshines them all. Our children have been settled, comfortable and happy for the first time in three weeks, my husband and I are less stressed and our dog Ruby is in her element. Accommodation is fab, good quality equipment, comfortable beds with soft warm clean bedding. Showers always hot. I could go on and on … A huge thank you and we have recommended this to our friends.

The Friel family

Lovely cottage in a great setting; very peaceful with fantastic views. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Philip and Janet, Essex August 2021

Fantastic week bird watching in Lincolnshire with awesome weather. The best accommodation ever slept in. Could not ask for anything better. A complete home from home in fantastic surroundings.

Graham and friends, Cumbria

Two families meeting again in this wonderful home and setting, made even more special by a wonderful wedding in Navenby.

Linsley and Denise from South Africa, Donald and Martine from Switzerland

Very pleasant accommodation in splendid surroundings. Excellent attention to detail by owners - fresh flowers greatly added to the warm welcome.

Jackie and Nigel Kitch, Suffolk

A lovely location, very peaceful and tranquil. Very well equipped and looked after by thoughtful and attentive owners. Always happy to ensure that you feel comfortable and enjoy the surroundings

Mike Williams, Lincolnshire

What a wonderful location. Away from the hustle and bustle and yet close enough to the roads to get out and about in Lincolnshire.

Geoff & Carole Towers, Newcastle on Tyne

Absolutely lovely place in a great setting. So homely, cosy and comfortable. We had a really lovely family get-together.

The Orchard Family, Nuneaton

Had a wonderful 2 weeks in the barn, which felt like a home the moment you stepped through the door. A charming property for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Will certainly recommend to others.

Dorothy McKechnie & Ian Flanigan, Cumbria

Wonderful accommodation; home form home. Hopefully will be back in two years. Enjoyed seeing the barn owl flying into the space you have made for it.

Heather Wingard, Penscola, Florida

We had a wonderful week in lovely surroundings, visiting family and friends in hitherto unknown Lincolnshire. Our visit has been made even more special by beautiful weather and the creature comforts of Hilltop Cottage. We found everything we could possibly need, appliances that are easy to use, lovely fluffy towels and good cotton sheets. Welbourn is a friendly visit with helpful folk, especially in the well-stocked PO stores and charming pub the Joiners Arms. There is an hourly bus service to Lincoln and Grantham. As well as Lincoln, Newark and the villages we can recommend the quiet seaside and Sandilands, near Mablethorpe. It’s worth dropping in to the Fat Sea Gull shop there for delicious ice cream. Full marks Lincolnshire!!

Mr & Mrs Browne

This really is a special place. Warm, cosy and comfortable, in no time it felt like home. Watching the wildlife has been great, even washing up was no problem with all the birds to watch, a squirrel digging up his winter hoard, not to mention a couple of muntjac deer walking along the hedge side. We have enjoyed walking along the private walks here, especially first thing in the morning with the dog, seeing all the pheasants and rabbits. Had some good walks within a few minutes at Bloxholm Nature reserve (the woods are lovely), High Dyke (the old Roman road, Ermine Street) and around Temple Brur. All great quiet places and ideal to walk a dog. Can’t wait to come back!

L D & R Nottingham

This was our second time here and just as good as the last time. See you next year.

Paul Allan Alex, Wakefield

Everything was perfect for our family visit. The kids loved playing out in the field and walking the paths. We loved our farm stay in Lincolnshire

Colebys, California

Very good accommodation! Perfect for celebrating a 30th birthday with the family. Lovely big space for children to run around in the sunshine.

Such wonderful views across the valley just a stroll away

Delia and Norman Hodginghamshire

I had another awesome time here with my so and daughter. We love the barn.

Peter McCrory, Canada

Perfect location for us to attend an event at RAF Cranwell. Immaculate property with everything we needed. We can recommend the butcher in Navenby, also the Five Bells in Bassingham for a dog friendly location.

The Robinsons, Oxfordshire

Kids loved their ‘park’ in the outside area. Lots of space for them to play. Loved watching and listening to rabbits, pheasants and the nesting Bluetits. A real home from home; everything you need.

Robert and Maxine, Dudley

We’ve really enjoyed our stay here. The barn is comfortable and packed with character. The walks around the farm are fascinating and varied. The long field across the lane has spectacular views and the area around the pond behind the barn is packed with wildlife. We were particularly impressed by the diversity of trees and the thoughtful planting that will make the field even more beautiful.

Steve, Jan and Benson (woof) Way, Wakefield

Our second Christmas stay at Hilltop Barn. Kitchen facilities are excellent and Peter is happy to provide any extras required. Visited Five Bells at Bassingham for a drink and must remember to go back for a meal on our next visit. Feels like a home from home rather than a holiday let.

Delia and Norman Hodges, Bucks

Will most certainly be back. Everything very cosy and comfortable.

Montenegro family, Elche Spa

A wonderful peaceful place to stay; great for exploring the Lincolnshire countryside.

Stephen and Annick Wright, Herefordshire

A great short break in a lovely barn, enjoyed our Sunday walk and the wonderful views.

The Owen family

We had a very relaxing long weekend, including our dog. We found the cottage to be immaculately clean, comfortable and cosy. We had a lovely dinner at the Kings Head in Navenby and good walks at Hartsholme Country Park and the Fossdyke Canal, starting at the Pyewipe Inn. We hope to come back again.

Jenny and Nick, West Midlands

Brilliant as usual. The woods were so much fun. Loved the uncut field.

D Bell, Saudi

Came away with family of four of us, two disabled, two dogs. All great, warm, cosy, homely. Beds very comfortable. Peter most helpful.

Anne Clarke, London

A very enjoyable and comfortable week - very comfortable beds - slept soundly every night.

Wendy and John, Glasgow. September 2021

Very relaxing holiday in a week-long heatwave! had a few days out on the bikes (to Boston on the Water Rail way from Woodhall (Kirkstead Bridge). A lovely beach day just south of Sutton on Sea.

Ali and Richard, W Yorks. July 2021

We have had a lovely comfortable stay here and it is very well situated for all there is to see. We will certainly be booking here again.

Mel and Neil, Essex

Staying at the barn is always a pleasure. Our children especially enjoy playing in its outdoor space, running around and having fun. The local wildlife didn't disappoint either; muntjac deer seen from the bedroom window, pheasants, squirrels and of course the resident owl. Four our last evening here we were treated to a beautiful sunset overlooking Welbourn village where I spent my childhood. The barn makes for a perfect base for catching up with family still in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be sure to return.

Teresa. Pierre, Hertfordshire

Our second visit. What can we say; fantastic! Will be back next year. Loads to do. Barn amazing
