Lincolnshire in Oils at the Lincolnshire Life Museum

This event is on throughout May and it well worth a visit if you are coming this way. It is a captivating exhibition by the artist Robert Wheeldon celebrating the heart and soul of Lincolnshire’s rural heritage. This collection of oil paintings brings together Lincolnshire’s beautiful vistas with timeless rural life, from sweeping farm scenes and beautifully observed landscapes to Lincolnshire’s proud engineering , including reaper binders, traction engines and tractors.

Whilst you are there at the old barracks you can look around many other fascinating exhibits that capture some of the county life in days gone by, including the original World War 1 tank (below), which was built here in Lincoln from the concept of the original track laying tractors from Grantham engineering works.
