Swallows arrived in Lincolnshire in force on 1st May. This is at least a week later than normal, as the chilly north easterly wind finally abated. When we eventually get some rain they will, like this one we photographed previously, start building their muddy nests. However the cool and dry conditions have maintained the apple blossom exceptionally well and it is now at its best. Our latest variety Winston is just starting to flower, whilst the plums are now over but look to be setting a bumper crop of fruit.
