Barking up the right tree?

If you live in a well-wooded area you may be familiar with the mouse-like Tree Creeper that zips up the trunks of trees searching for insects in the crevasses. Here in open country they are more thinly scattered but this year we were able to find a nest under the bark of an oak tree. Not only did we capture adult and young in this photo but close observation revealed that they provide a surprisingly large variety of insects, including daddy long legs which are easy to find at present and caterpillars. Being fed by parents every two or three minutes the young will fly any day now. There are usually 4-6 young but we have yet to determine how many are in this nest.
