Protecting the Wildlife in Your Garden
Everybody knows that all wildlife needs accessible water throughout the year but your provision could be dangerous!
Those useful little cones that we buy from the garden shop to measure rain should be emptied after every significant rainfall. Bumble bees love to go in and have a drink and often it is a one-way trip with the conical shape and smoth plastic sides making it very difficult for them to escape and resulting in them drowning. Give them one of those ubiquitous single-use plastic pot bases instead as a drinking bowl - or better still do your bit to wage the war on single use plastic and choose a clay base which is less likely to blow around and litter your garden!
