Early March is a good time to double the value of your apples. You could enjoy putting them out on the lawn in front of the kitchen window as we have done here and had a great time photographing the thrushes as they descend in quantity. We had eighty Fieldfares arrive from nowhere to join our local Robins, Blackbirds and Song thrush, so it is a good job there is still plenty of fruit! Since we are snowed in today, it has kept us out of the office, tinkering with the endless jobs that can easily wait. The barn and cottage are both full this month and what a wonderful time to spend enjoying the great snowy walks around here and returning to a cosy cottage to talk about the experience and the deer tracks that are now clearly visible.
